Litigation
Through a dedicated multi-professional structure of attorneys-at-law and patent and trademark attorney, BDL-IP LEGAL assists and represents its clients in intellectual property-related litigation before the French or European Courts, in particular the Unified Patent Court (UPC).
The Firm is thus involved in litigation:
- before French courts, in particular for revocation and infringement proceedings relating to any intellectual property rights (patents, trademarks, copyrights and designs), recovery of ownership claims and/or unfair and parasitic competition;
- before the UPC, regarding revocation and infringement of European patents;
- before the French Commission for -Inventors-Employees (CNIS) and/or before the French courts, regarding inventions of employees;
- before the Court of Appeal, regarding appeals against decisions from the Director of French Patent and Trademark Office (INPI), relating to the registration, grant, opposition, nullity or revocation of a patent, trademark and/or design;
- before the EUIPO, in European Union trademark and design matters.
The Firm’s teams are composed of qualified attorneys-at-law, patent and trademark attorneys, covering all areas of intellectual property (patents, trademarks, copyright, designs, etc.) and unfair competition.
They benefit from an expertise in all technical fields (mechanics, aeronautics and aerospace, electronics, electricity, IT, telecommunications, software, materials, cosmetics, chemistry, biology, biotechnologies, pharmaceuticals, etc.), implemented in many disputes handled by the Firm in France and abroad.
For each case:
- a multi-disciplinary team is composed with experts, attorney-at-law and patent and trademark attorneys with in-depth expertise in the concerned technical fields and in the involved intellectual property rights;
- personalized support is provided, adapted to the specificities of the case, its complexity and the customer’s needs, with privileged interlocutors and dedicated managers.
Thanks to these multiple and integrated areas of expertise, the firm’s teams can meet the expectations of complex patent litigation cases, especially before the UPC, where deadlines require a perfect organization and synergy between attorneys-at-law and patent attorneys.
The firm’s attorneys-at-law and more than thirty-five European patent attorneys have obtained specific qualifications (CEIPI Patent Litigator Certificate) and are authorized to represent clients before the UPC. The firm’s patent attorneys have extensive experience of proceedings before patent Offices such as the French (INPI) and European (EPO) Patent Office and the EUIPO, including around 60 opposition proceedings before the EPO every year.
